As more and more downstream users put forward low-carbon demand for steel mills, the concept of "low-carbon steel" continues to heat up around the world. Ammi has signed low carbon emission steel supply agreements with several customers. Actively carry out the "green steel" supply and demand docking with downstream industries, and increase the supply of low-carbon steel is gradually becoming the core content of its international business.
On May 28, Ammi established a partnership with steel processor SUALSA and others to jointly build the Wyndham Hotel (TRYP) in Punta Cana, Dominica. Ammi will supply steel structures made of XCarb® brand low carbon emission steel. The low-carbon steel used in the project is made from all scrap steel and renewable energy generation + electric furnace. Compared to steel produced using traditional production methods, this method can reduce CO2 emissions per ton of steel by 70% (depending on the type of steel used), while maintaining the same quality standards. To meet Wyndham's need to reduce its carbon footprint.
On June 6, AMmi signed an agreement with auto parts company ZF to supply low-carbon steel to support the production of auto parts. Ammi plans to produce low-carbon rods and wires at its plants in Hamburg, Germany, and Warsaw, Poland. This reduces carbon emissions by about 80% compared to steel products produced by conventional blast furnaces. Zf will use AMmi's low-carbon steel for the production of automotive components, in line with sustainable development and environmental responsibility.
Modular water storage tanks are also an important area for AMmi to expand the application of low carbon emission steel. In early June, Ammi partnered with Tankeros to produce water tank products using Magnelis®, a high-strength hot-dip galvanized aluminum-magnesium product made by Ammi with low carbon emissions steel, to improve the performance of its products. Water tanks are usually installed outdoors, and corrosion resistance is a key indicator to test the quality of their products. Magnelis®, a low carbon emission, high-strength hot-dip galvanized aluminum-magnesium product supplied to Tankeros by Ammi Iberia Distribution, helps Tankeros eliminate the post-galvanizing process, reduce operating costs, and extend product life.
According to Ammi's announced carbon neutrality targets, it plans to reduce carbon emissions by 30% by 2030 and to achieve carbon neutrality in its European steel mill operations by 2050. Anmi continues to increase the supply of low-carbon steel, on the one hand, it is in practice of its own firm commitment to low-carbon emission reduction, on the other hand, it also reflects the urgent demand of overseas steel users for low-carbon steel. The global "green steel market" is slowly cultivating and developing in the upstream and downstream supply and demand docking
